Congratulations to Rachel Kang whose visual arts entry won at Fifth District and is now a State Finalist.  Rachel's entry is now competing against other high school visual arts entries from all over California.  We hope she continues to do well and are very proud of her.  Again Congratulations!

We also would like to say how fabulous it is that Tatiana Gheybi's literature entry entitled "Beauty is..." received the Award of Excellence by the Fifth District PTA committee.  Jean Wei's visual arts entry entitled "Windows of the Soul" also received the Award of Excellence by Fifth District.  Great job, we are proud of your hard work and success.

Introduction

The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program, which provides students with an opportunity to express themselves creatively and receive positive recognition for their original works of art.  Each year the program is based on a different theme that is selected from submissions by students from all over the United States.  The theme for the 2009 Reflections Program is "Beauty is…" The Upland Highlander High PTSA is excited to give students the chance to explore and learn about various art forms while cultivating an appreciation for the arts and their own creative talents.  Students can prepare entries in any of six categories: Literature, Musical Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, Dance Choreography and Film Production.

National PTA has established some new rules this year.

Be sure to review your "Your entry should have..." requirements for your entry.
